Hi MLJC Family and Friends
We have some important events planned for the summer of 2008. We hope you'll be able to join us.
June 20-22 Jewish Weekend at the Miller home on Lake Tulloch
For directions go to: http://www.laketullochcampground. com/directions. html
After arrival at the gate, DO NOT PAY PARKING OR CAMPING FEES. Tell the folks at the gate you are going to the Miller house. They may or may not be able to direct you to the house. There will be balloons at the campgrounds to guide you. Drive across the lower parking lot, pass the camp laundry bldg. then turn right. Drive a short distance until you see a road on your left with a "Private Road" sign. Turn onto that road and it will end at the Miller driveway. The address is 14574 Tulloch Dam Rd. Call or email MLJC (533-1650) if you need further directions. DO NOT follow Yahoo maps, Mapquest or your car navigator. You might end up on the wrong side of the lake!
On Friday, June 20, we will have a potluck barbecue (bring your own meat to barbecue and a dish to share) bet. 6 - 7:30PM. We will follow that with a Shabbat Service if we have enough folks in attendance. On Saturday morning we will meet at 10AM and will probably just spend the day with watersports (Millers have a powerboat and our own dock on the lake). Bring your fishing eqpt., water toys, etc. They have a canoe, paddleboat and 2 hydrabikes. Some folks have talked about rafting on the Stanislaus river that day and there is always the possibility of a morning Shabbat service if those in attendance choose to have one.
At about 7PM on Saturday night we will have another barbecue/potluck dinner and follow that with a Havdallah Service (end of Shabbat). On Sunday at 12Noon, we will have a bagel brunch which will be followed by a regular Board meeting. Watersports will also be available again for the afternoon.
Folks are invited to stay at the campgrounds overnight if they wish (all campsites are walking distance from our house). If they choose to do that, they should make arrangements with the campgrounds at the website shown above. If they wish to just drive down daily for any or all of the events, they are welcome to do that. The door will be open all weekend and visitors are invited to just walk on in. There are 3-1/2 bathrooms and a very large kitchen that all may use. Folks may spend the night (s) on Miller's decks or park their RV's in the driveway. ------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- ------- On July 6 we have another fun day planned at the beautiful home of Arlene Proebsting in Sonora.
