We will celebrate on Saturday, March 19th at the Ormans' home in Murphys.
The festivities begin at 4 pm with Hamantaschen Making (Yumm!), games and prizes for the kids, and of
course, the telling of the story of Purim, "The Whole Megillah".
From 7 pm on is the "Purim Shpiel".

The MLJC has purchased cemetery plots in the Buena Vista Cemetery in Murphys, in order to create a Jewish
Cemetery. Now, it may be too early to think about this, but it doesn't hurt. If you are a resident of the hiway 4
corridor in Calaveras County, you are eligible. The plots are very inexpensive right now, so think about it, and
call Ron Schaner if interested, 795-3530, or schaner@sbcglobal.net.
Save the Date for the Passover Seder: April 23rd, 5 pm, Lion's Hut in Murphys.
We will have the traditional cooking party on April 22nd, 1 pm, at the Ormans' .

interest, you can now buy your plots from the MLJC. Others who are interested and live in the cemetery district
can be on a waiting list. Please contact Rodger Orman, rodgero1@comcast.net.
New policies were implemented to make sure you are not bombarded with emails in this information age. There
will be a special email list for those who are interested in cultural, religious, or spiritual events not put on by the
MLJC. If you would like to be on this list, contact Dale Silverman,dalemmr@yahoo.com. Our website,
www.motherlodejc.org, is available to post your items of interest, such as activities you are involved in (music,
judymiller@prodigy.net, to post the info.
For those with children, there will be Hebrew lessons and Judaism for kids, taught by Judy Miller in Sonora. The
classes begin November 15th and will be held at the home of Dawn Purcell. The classes are free for those with
paid memberships to the MLJC.
